Volunteer

Since day one, the volunteers, their energy and commitment have been the prime force behind MATI. Volunteers are on our board, work in classrooms, help with fundraising, and assist artists. They provide assistance with technology, writing, and chaperone on field trips. Besides providing educational assistance, volunteers help create focus in the classroom and share from their own experiences. Sometimes the best thing a volunteer can do for a child is to simply listen. Classroom volunteers give 2-to-4 hours per week during a school session. Their presence, caring and attention to kid’s needs continually demonstrates to each child the possibility for their personal success. Sure the kids benefit, but a volunteer who tutors or mentors gets even more.
